*Transmit File ( ALT T )
The Transmit File function is used to send an ASCII
file to the TNC. To send a file, click on the Files
Menu item or press the "F" key when the Menu system is
activated. You may now press either a "T" or click the mouse
on the Transmit File selection.
At this point the file selector will appear on the screen.
To select a file using the mouse double click on the file to
send, no other action is required.
To use the cursor keys to pick a file, move the cursor until
the required file is highlighted. Using the TAB key
move to the OK box. This may also be chosen by
pressing the 'O' key. This file will be sent to the TNC
at this time.
*Receive File ( ALT R )
To open a file for logging the incoming data, click or
select the Receive File option. The file name will be
defaulted to the following format :
yymmddhh.ttR
Where :
yy - year
mm - month
dd - day
hh - hour
tt - minute
R - Flag for received file
You may rename this file, if you wish. To do so just
'tab' to the file name entry box or press 'F' and enter the name.
Appending an Existing File
If you wish to append (add to) an existing file, use the
cursor keys or mouse to select the file to be appended. The
received data will be 'tacked' on to the end of the existing
file.

AEA-PK-232 Host Mode (packet only)
When receiving a file using the AEA PK232 in Host
mode the file will be opened against the current
active STREAM or CHANNEL. The program will allow one file
per STREAM or CHANNEL. If you have problems with your computer
locking up try setting the FILES and BUFFERS
values in CONFIG.SYS to a higher value.
*Print Toggle
This command allows the user to log all received data to the
printer. To activate click on the selection. A message will
appear on the middle status bar that the printer is
activated, "Prt On". If an error occurs the message "Prt
ERR" will appear.
To toggle the printer off, click on this selection again.
This will disable the printer. The message "Prt Off" should
appear in the status box in the middle of the screen.
*Print File
The "Print File" command is used to print a file from disk.
The File Selector (refer to section on File Selector) will
be displayed on the screen. The user may select the desired
file and press the 'O' (Ok) key or double click on the entry
with a mouse. To cancel the print file function press
either the 'ESC ' key or click the mouse off of the
File selector.
Note All printing is done as a background operation.
As such nornal operation may be continued while
printing a file. Maximum file size is 64K.
No actions are required after the file is printed.
*View File ( ALT V )
This allows the user to view a text file with full window
scrolling capability. For more information see Using
Help/View.
The TNC information will still be recorded in the
background and logged to Disk or Printer if these options
are activated.
*View Color File
This allows the user to view a ANSI color file. The
program defaults to the UPLOAD directory. Select the
file to be viewed using the 'File Selector'. After
viewing press any key to continue.
*Save Parameters ( ALT S)
This function saves all current setup parameters to
the 'XPCOM.TUI' file. To perform this operation just
click on the Save Para or hot key the selection.
WARNING
This file MUST be present for the program to function
properly.

*DOS Shell (CTRL S)
The dos shell commands allows the user to run other programs
from the dos prompt, while leaving a small loader resident in
memory for XPCOM. All but about 3K of memory is returned.
To return to XPCOM type "EXIT " at the DOS prompt.
The program will return to the previous state. Any
data that has been decoded by the TNC will appear on
the screen.
*Editor ( ALT E )
This command invokes the User defined text editor (see Setup
Menu). The user will be prompted with a file selector.
Refer to section on File Selector . Pick the desired
file to be edited or create a new file by using the
'F' command and entering the new file name.
After exiting the text editor, XPCOM will resume
normal operations.

*Run Batch ( CTRL O )
This option allows you to run batch files from within
XPCOM.
*Quit ( ALT X )
This will end the program, the program may also be
terminated by pressing 'ALT-X'. You will be prompted for
two actions. The first is a confirmation that you really
want to quit the program. If you select 'Yes' you will also
be prompted and given a chance to save the current
operating parameters. If you have made any changes that you
want to keep ( color, scroll back etc.) save them at this
time, otherwise they will be lost.
